Short Christmas Poems

  • A song was heard at Christmas
    To wake the midnight sky:
    A saviour's birth, and peace on earth,
    And praise to God on high.
    The angels sang at Christmas
    With all the hosts above,
    And still we sing the newborn King
    His glory and his love.

    (Written by Timothy Dudley-Smith)
  • Be happy and of good cheer
    For this is a great time of year
    For laughing, loving, and caring
    And most of all to share

  • I heard the bells, on Christmas Day,
    Their old, familiar carols play,
Some new are at Christmas Greetings Poems and Christmas Poem For Kids

And wild and sweet
The words repeat.
  • Little Jack Horner
    Sat in the corner,
    Eating of Christmas pie:
    He put in his thumb,
    And pulled out a plum,
    And said, "What a good boy am I!"
  • For your Christmas presents,
    I thank you one and all.
    For the big ones many thanks,
    And fewer for the small.
  • I wish you joy all though your holidays,
    I wish you good luck that forever stays.
    I wish you the love of family and friends,
    I wish you happy days that never ever ends.
    Merry Christmas to you!
  • We hope this Christmas enriches your life;
    May each day be happy and bright,
    Overflowing with pleasure and love;
    May your Christmas be filled with delight.

  •  Poinsettia smiles in winter.
    People know Christmas is nearer.
    Yellow pistil with red leaves appear
    In all greeting cards every year
  • Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
    for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
    like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
    The good you do for others
    is good you do yourself.
  • Star high,
    Baby low:
    'Twixt the two
    Wise men go;
    Find the baby,
    Grasp the star--
    Heirs of all things
    Near and far!
